Twenty-eight arrested in multi-location drug raids

WARNER ROBINS, GA – A sweeping crackdown on a narcotics ring in Warner Robins has resulted in the arrest of 28 individuals, following an extensive year-long investigation. District Attorney Eric Edwards, who led the operation, described it as one of the largest undertakings of his career.

Residents in the area, despite witnessing a surge of police activity, report feeling secure. Many expressed relief at the authorities’ efforts to curb illegal activities in their community.

“Our primary objective was to halt the influx of drugs into Houston County to prevent further loss of life,” said Edwards. The raid on Wednesday targeted a gang-related drug network responsible for distributing substances such as marijuana, methamphetamine, and cocaine.

The investigation was initiated in 2024 after residents raised concerns about unusual activities in the neighborhood. This prompted law enforcement to delve deeper into the operations, eventually gathering sufficient evidence to execute warrants across multiple locations.

For some residents, the magnitude of the bust came as a surprise. Ryan Qua, a local resident who recently moved to the area, noted that his experience of the neighborhood had been one of tranquility.

“The actions of a few individuals don’t define the safety of our community,” Qua remarked. “It’s reassuring to see the authorities taking measures to ensure our safety.”

Edwards emphasized that this operation is a part of a broader initiative to eliminate dangerous drugs from the streets of Houston County. He acknowledged the nationwide issue of overdose deaths, underscoring the importance of local efforts in combating this crisis.

A news conference with DA Edwards and local law enforcement is scheduled for Monday at 10 a.m. at the Law Enforcement Center in Warner Robins. The event will be streamed live.
