Three men shot in busy area of the infamous Hollywood Walk of Fame

Two people were injured and one person died in a shooting on the Hollywood Walk of Fame early Saturday morning.

Shortly before 1:30 a.m. local time, a suspicious incident took place. The Los Angeles Police Department reported that three men in their 30s were leaving a building near Hollywood Boulevard and Cherokee Avenue.

As they left, a deadly shooting took place and claimed the life of one of the men that was present.

Two other men were taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Their conditions were reported to be stable. All three men were shot multiple times during the altercation.

According to LAPD detective Sean Kinchla, multiple witnesses observed the shooting along a busy stretch of the legendary Hollywood Walk of Fame.

LAPD officials told KTLA that the suspects fled in a car seen traveling northbound on Cherokee Avenue.

Detective Kinchla shared, “at this point, we’re canvassing for witnesses and looking for any video that may have captured it.” He also told KTLA that, “”Hollywood always has a very heavy (police) deployment on the boulevard.”
