Three Killed, Three Injured in Georgia House Explosion Caused by Propane Tanks

A Georgia home was engulfed in flames early Saturday morning after multiple propane tanks exploded, killing three people and injuring three others. The explosion occurred just after midnight at a home on Hidden Acres Road in Winder, according to officials with the Barrow County Emergency Services.

When firefighters arrived on the scene, the home was already collapsing under the intense fire, with “multiple explosions” going off inside, according to Chief Alan Shuman. First responders were unable to immediately enter the home due to safety concerns and instead fought the flames from a defensive position.

Once the fire was under control, officials found three deceased individuals inside the home. Two others were taken by ambulance to area hospitals, and one was transported by helicopter.

Authorities confirmed that “multiple” propane cylinders were found inside the home and caused the deadly explosions. The identities of the deceased have not yet been released, and the incident remains under investigation.
