Teen killed, two injured in sports complex shooting

CHANDLER, AZ – A concerning outbreak of gun violence resulted in the death of a teenager and the injury of two others at a park in Chandler on Sunday night. Chandler Police Department reported that the victims, all aged between 16 and 17, were at the receiving end of this unfortunate incident.

Police responded to reports of a potential shooting near Snedigar Sportsplex, which is located close to Alma School Road and Chandler Heights Road. The gunfire erupted at the scene of the incident around 9 p.m.

Upon arriving at the location, officers discovered evidence of the shootout and three young victims grappling with gunshot wounds. One of the victims could not survive the injuries and was pronounced dead on the spot.

Based on their initial assessment, Chandler detectives postulated that the shooting transpired amidst two known groups in what seemed to be an isolated event. Thus far, no suspect has been pointed out in the incident.

In a Monday afternoon news release, the cops mentioned, “There is no present danger to the public,” reassuring Chandler citizens that the situation was under control.
