Teacher Wanted on Child Sex Crime Warrants

Carrollton police say warrants accuse Hebron High School teacher Gloria Resendiz of indecency with a child by sexual contact and child grooming.

CARROLLTON, TX — Police are searching for a Lewisville Independent School District teacher after arrest warrants were issued accusing her of two child sex crimes, while the district says she has been placed on administrative leave and barred from its facilities.

Carrollton police said warrants have been issued for Gloria Resendiz, a teacher at Hebron High School, on charges of indecency with a child by sexual contact and child grooming. Police said Monday that they were actively working to locate her. Authorities had not announced an arrest, and the allegations against Resendiz have not been proven in court.

Lewisville ISD said Resendiz was placed on administrative leave after the district received allegations and has not been permitted at any district facility. The district said it is cooperating with the Carrollton Police Department as the investigation continues. Hebron High School Principal Amy Boughton also notified families about the investigation and the teacher’s leave status.

Police have released few details about the allegations. Authorities have not publicly described the circumstances that led to the warrants, including when the alleged conduct occurred. Additional information about the investigation was not being released because the case remained active, according to police.

The charges identified by police are indecency with a child by sexual contact and child grooming. The issuance of arrest warrants represents allegations in a criminal case and is not a finding of guilt. No court outcome had been reported as of Monday, and police were still seeking Resendiz.

In its message to families, Lewisville ISD said police had informed the district that the arrest warrants were issued as part of the ongoing investigation. The district said Resendiz would remain on administrative leave and was strictly prohibited from entering district facilities.

The district also said school officials did not have additional information about the investigation beyond what law enforcement had provided. Hebron High School counselors were being made available to support students and staff as the investigation continued.

The case centers on Hebron High School, a Lewisville ISD campus in Carrollton. The district’s response has so far focused on keeping Resendiz away from district property, cooperating with investigators and providing counseling support. Officials have not publicly identified any child connected to the allegations, and details that could identify a minor are being withheld.

As of the latest information released Monday, Carrollton police were still trying to determine Resendiz’s whereabouts and had not announced that she was in custody. The investigation remained ongoing, with authorities withholding further details about the underlying allegations.
