Severed head and body parts found in apartment freezer

BROOKLYN, NY – A severed head and multiple body parts were discovered in a freezer at a Brooklyn apartment on Monday night, leading to the detainment of 45-year-old resident, Heather Stines. The gruesome discovery was made in response to a tip received by the police.

As of now, Stines has not yet been charged. The identity of the dismembered body is still unknown, and DNA testing is in progress. Meanwhile, all body parts have been removed from the property.

According to the NYPD, the initial call led them to an unidentified deceased male within the apartment. Assistance on the scene was provided by the EMS. The case is still being investigated, and the cause of death will be confirmed by the medical examiner.

Recent interviews with Stines’s relatives and her neighbors have painted a troubled picture of her life. Her aunt, Amy Stines, revealed that her niece has a history of drug issues. She has numerous children from past relationships who were removed from her care due to negligent behavior, including having them sleep on the floor due to a bed bug issue.

Heather’s husband, Nicholas McGee, is currently in jail in Chesapeake, Virginia, on charges related to fraud. Catherine McGee, the sister-in-law, revealed that both Heather and Nicholas are drug abusers with a history of arrests.

Heather relapsed into drug use a couple of years ago following the death of one of her daughters from a drug overdose. She is known in her neighborhood for her struggle with drug addiction and has frequently been the target of break-ins, possibly related to drug debts, according to a neighbor directly across her hallway.
