Pregnant woman attacked by home intruder in broad daylight

HOUSTON, TX – A terrifying home invasion took place last Thursday in Southeast Houston, where Lily Garza, a pregnant woman, was assaulted in her own home by a knife-wielding intruder in broad daylight. The attack unfolded while Garza’s husband, Cesar, was at work, leaving Lily home alone. The couple’s home security camera captured the majority of the incident.

The recorded footage showed a middle-aged man donning a baseball cap and unsuccessfully trying to find an entry point into their house before finally accessing it through an open window. Armed with a knife, he then proceeded upstairs, rifling through drawers in the search for valuables.

Upon waking up to the sight of the intruder in her bedroom, Lily was forcefully pushed back onto the bed by the burglar. Seizing an opportune moment, Lily tried to escape and ran downstairs. The ensuing chase resulted in the intruder grabbing her by the neck and slamming her onto the floor.

During the assault, Lily repeatedly cried out that she was pregnant. The intruder demanded money, to which Lily responded she had none. He eventually took her iPhone, Apple Watch, and jewelry, including her wedding ring. Under pressure to return upstairs with the intruder, Lily made a quick decision to bolt outside and scream for help, prompting the intruder to flee from the scene.

With the help of neighbors and family members who arrived soon after, Lily was brought to Hermann Hospital for monitoring. Her husband, Cesar, confirmed on Friday that both Lily and their unborn child are fine. Amidst their desire for justice and the burglar’s capture, the Garzas hope that Lily’s wedding ring will be found at a local pawn shop.

Anyone with information on the identity of the robber is urged to contact the Houston Police. The Garza’s baby is due next month.
