Postal working shot in the face by an Amazon driver

EVERETT, WA – A postal worker remains in critical condition after being shot inside an apartment building on Monday afternoon. Authorities have identified the shooter as a package delivery driver.

The incident unfolded around 1 p.m. at West Mall Place Apartments, located just north of the Everett Mall and adjacent to the Everett Police Department’s South Precinct. The victim was swiftly transported to Harborview Medical Center, where he is currently fighting for his life.

Police have seized a U.S. Postal Service truck and an Amazon delivery van as part of their investigation into what escalated into gunfire between the two delivery drivers.

Local resident Jelani Jones expressed disbelief, stating that he knew the mail carrier who was shot. “It’s heartbreaking. He’s always been great with people in our neighborhood,” Jones said.

According to postal inspectors, the mail carrier was on his regular route when the confrontation occurred. Witnesses reported a brief altercation before the Amazon driver allegedly drew a firearm and shot the postal worker in the face. The suspect then reportedly entered an office, admitted to the shooting, and waited by his truck.

Everett Police quickly apprehended the suspect, who is now facing charges. The community is eager for answers as to what led to the violent encounter.

The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is leading the investigation, with assistance from the FBI and local law enforcement. Authorities are working to piece together the events that culminated in this tragic incident.
