Police hunting suspects after three in Halloween costumes terrorize a family

ALEXANDRIA, VA – A chilling encounter was captured on a Ring doorbell camera late Tuesday night, as three individuals wearing Halloween masks terrorized a family in this suburban community near Washington, D.C.

Initially laughing, the masked trio’s behavior quickly turned menacing. They began by pulling on the front door, making gestures of cutting their throats, and threatening to break into the house. “If this door doesn’t open, we’re going to come in,” one of them warned ominously.

Shayla, a family member inside the home, recounted the harrowing experience. She initially greeted them with “Happy Halloween” and asked them to leave, realizing only moments later that the situation was far from a prank.

The intruders failed to enter through the front but made their way to the backyard, where they damaged a fence and screen door. “They came through there to knock on the back door,” Shayla explained.

Alexandria police are now investigating the incident, with the police chief labeling the video as “very alarming.” He emphasized that what might have seemed like a pre-Halloween prank has crossed into criminal territory.

“We will take every step to prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law,” the chief stated. He urged those responsible to turn themselves in, noting that such behavior is taken very seriously.

Shayla revealed that her mother, who owns the house, is now living in fear, uncertain of the perpetrators’ identities. However, the police have indicated they are pursuing promising leads.

The community remains on edge as authorities work to bring those responsible to justice, underscoring the seriousness of such acts.
