Pitbull attack kills mother in her son’s backyard

TAYLORSVILLE, UT – In a horrifying incident that has left a community reeling, a 63-year-old woman from Taylorsville, Utah, lost her life following a vicious attack by her son’s pit bulls. The woman, whose name has been withheld, had her leg amputated after the incident and passed away on Monday, as stated by Taylorsville Police Lt. J. Fowler.

The distress call came on the night of October 31. Responding to the 911 call, police officers found the woman in her yard, surrounded by the two adult pit bulls and their litter of five puppies. To reach the victim, officers had to use pepper spray to fend off the dogs.

In a subsequent development, the adult female pit bull broke free, leading to the police shooting the animal. The remaining dogs were handed over to authorities by the owner, the victim’s son.

The exact circumstances of the woman’s death have not been disclosed by the authorities. The incident has triggered a wave of concern about pet ownership and public safety.
