LAS VEGAS, NV – A North Las Vegas pastor was shot and killed by his neighbor following an escalating feud centered on complaints filed with their homeowners’ association (HOA). Joe Junio, 36, is facing murder and attempted murder charges stemming from the December 29th shooting that left 46-year-old father Nick Davi dead.
Grand jury footage depicts Junio pulling into a driveway and exchanging words with Davi before exiting the vehicle and opening fire. The fatal confrontation was partially captured on video by Davi’s daughter, who was seated in the back of the family’s car.
Tensions between the two families had been simmering after the Davi family submitted complaints about Junio’s dogs and chickens to the HOA. Junio retaliated with harassment and threats, prompting the Davises to call the police twice in the month leading up to the shooting.
According to police reports, the Davi family was in the process of leaving their home for the night out of concern for their safety when the altercation erupted. Nick Davi’s wife, Sarah, was also shot during the incident.
Junio currently remains in custody without bail. She is currently scheduled to be arraigned on March 14th. A wrongful death lawsuit filed by Davi’s family also names the owner of the firearm as a defendant. Community members are reeling from the tragedy that has exposed the potential for HOA disputes to turn deadly.
