Package bomb sent to judge

THESSALONIKI, GR – Bomb disposal experts successfully neutralized a parcel bomb on Monday that had been sent to a high-ranking judge in her courthouse office in Thessaloniki, Greece’s second-largest city, according to local law enforcement.

The judge, who remains unnamed, found the package suspicious and wisely chose not to open it. Instead, she alerted the courthouse police, which led to the immediate evacuation of the premises.

The incident occurred during a period of minimal public presence in the courthouse, as a majority of trials have been put on hold due to an ongoing lawyers’ strike.

Upon inspection, the package was found to contain an explosive device. Military bomb disposal experts were called in to safely disarm the potentially lethal parcel.

No group or individual has yet claimed responsibility for the attempted attack. However, it is worth noting that similar incidents have occurred in recent years, often perpetrated by small militant groups on the far-left of the political spectrum. These groups typically target figures and symbols of authority.
