One dead, several injured in police shooting

AUSTIN, TX – A shooting incident in Downtown Austin left one man dead and several others wounded, according to local law enforcement. Officials from the Austin Police Department (APD) stated that the shooting incident unfolded on East 6th Street late Saturday night when an armed man attempted to enter a bar.

Upon recognizing the armed man, a bar employee alerted APD officers who approached the suspect. Reportedly, the man brandished his firearm, aiming it at officers and others nearby. In response, three officers opened fire hitting the gunman multiple times, leading to his death at the scene.

In the midst of the shooting, three other individuals sustained injuries. At this time, the specifics surrounding their involvement in the incident and how they were injured remain unclear.
