TEMPE, AZ – The corporate office of Wells Fargo in Tempe, Arizona, has become the scene of an unnerving development where an employee was found dead at her workstation. The harrowing discovery indicates that the employee, Denise Prudhomme, 60, may have been lifeless at her desk for four days before being found.
According to Tempe police, Prudhomme clocked in for work at 7 a.m. on August 16. It wasn’t until August 20 that she was discovered unresponsive at her desk, prompting building security to alert law enforcement. Upon arrival, officers confirmed her demise.
One anonymous employee shared that Prudhomme was found deceased in her cubicle on the third floor, somewhat secluded from the primary office aisle. Some people noticed an unpleasant odor but attributed it to a plumbing issue.
Distress was expressed by employees at the seemingly delayed discovery of Prudhomme’s body. The building had round-the-clock security despite the predominance of remote working, raising concerns about the efficaciousness of the office’s security measures.
Tempe authorities have emphasized that the death doesn’t carry any suspicious elements, but the details concerning how and when she died are not yet clear. The perceived silence from the bank about the incident has exacerbated employee distress.
The bank’s leadership reportedly communicated to employees about the facility undergoing thorough cleaning and offered counseling services. Despite these assurances, some employees criticized the bank for its perceived lack of transparency over the incident.
The absence of apparent indications of foul play has not dissuaded an ongoing investigation. The Tempe Police Criminal Investigations Bureau, in collaboration with the Maricopa County medical examiner, is working towards establishing the cause of Prudhomme’s death.
