Off-Duty NYPD Officer Shot in Brooklyn During Attempted Robbery

An off-duty NYPD officer is currently fighting for his life after being shot during an attempted robbery in East New York, Brooklyn on Saturday evening. The officer was on a trip to purchase a car that he had arranged on social media when the incident occurred.

According to the police, the officer arrived at the Ruby Street location near Linden Boulevard and was immediately confronted by the suspect who had a gun and announced a robbery.

The officer, who is a 5-year veteran of the NYPD, then displayed his own weapon, and there was an exchange of gunfire between the two. Unfortunately, the officer was hit by a bullet and was taken to Brookdale Hospital where he is in critical condition.

The identity of the officer has not yet been released to the public, but Mayor Adams has confirmed that he spoke to the officer’s wife and children. The police are still searching for the suspect, and the investigation is ongoing.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the officer and his family during this difficult time.” Adam’s said. he added: “The bravery and courage displayed by this officer are a testament to the selflessness and dedication of the men and women who serve in the NYPD.”
