Nurse attacked while in Whataburger drive-thru

HOUSTON, TX ā€“ A routine drive-thru visit turned violent for an emergency room nurse in Houston’s Southside neighborhood on Sunday evening. The nurse, Kaci Bruce, was attacked after her car accidentally bumped into the SUV in front of her while waiting in line at Whataburger.

Bruce, 29, had just finished a taxing shift and was eager to grab a quick meal. She ordered her favorite combo and relaxed, thinking her car was in park. However, her vehicle inched forward, lightly hitting the SUV ahead. This minor mishap led to an unexpected and brutal reaction.

The SUV driver erupted in anger, shouting profanities and demanding Bruce move her car back. The confrontation escalated when the woman opened Bruce’s car door and struck her twice, resulting in a busted lip and a broken blood vessel in her eye. The assault was partially caught on video, capturing the second blow.

Fearful for her safety, Bruce chose to conceal her identity when speaking about the incident. “I just want her to realize that Iā€™m a daughter, just like she is,” Bruce said, emphasizing the emotional and physical toll of the attack.

After the ordeal, Bruce inspected her car for damage but found none. The Houston Police Department has since called on the community for help in identifying the assailant. The suspect, described as a woman in her late 30s to early 40s, was driving a dark-colored SUV, possibly a dark blue Mercedes.

Police are urging anyone with information to reach out. This incident serves as a stark reminder of how quickly a routine errand can turn dangerous, leaving a profound impact on those involved.
