News Crew Shot Covering Murder Scene

Wednesday August 19, 2020 marked an awful tragedy for the Pine Hills community in Orlando, Florida.

In the morning, a woman in her 20s was fatally shot, only to be followed by a worse incident in the same area that afternoon. Gunfire erupted at 4:05 p.m., leaving multiple victims, including two fatalities.

Orange County Sheriff’s Deputies apprehended 19-year-old Keith Moses in connection to the homicides, who is reported to have an extensive criminal background ranging from gun charges to aggravated assault.

Spectrum News 13, a local news agency, suffered a blow to their team when officers reported that a reporter and photographer were shot. Unfortunately, one of their employees did not survive the attack.

Sheriff John Mina of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department is remaining tight lipped about the identity of the murder victims, but expressioned deep concerns for the community affected by the violence.

With the investigation ongoing, many questions about the circumstances leading up to the shooting are still left unanswered. The Sheriff did provide insight into the event however, when stating that it was believed that the suspect had gone to a nearby house and opened fire on a mother and her 9-year-old daughter. The daughter did not survive.
