New Jersey man suspected of fatally stabbing his mother and brother

Authorities suspect a New Jersey man of stabbing his mother and brother to death in a Teaneck home on Wednesday. Keith Knight, 60, was taken into custody on Thursday morning in connection with the fatal stabbing of his mother, Victoria Knight, 84, and his brother, Ronald Knight, 52, according to Maureen Parenta, a spokesperson for the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.

While specific details about the incident remain scarce, Parenta confirmed that both victims had died. Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli shared a photo of the suspect on Twitter, referring to the incident as a “double stabbing homicide.” It is currently unclear if Knight has been charged.

Police responded to a call regarding a fight between the brothers and their mother around 11 p.m. on Wednesday, as reported by ABC. Upon arrival, they discovered Victoria and Ronald with stab wounds. Both victims were rushed to separate hospitals, according to NBC. The circumstances of Keith’s apprehension at the scene are not clear.

A relative of the Knight family told ABC that Keith has a history of mental illness, which is believed to stem from a brain injury he sustained years ago. Teaneck police have directed all inquiries about the incident to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.
