New homeowners discover human head in freezer

GRAND JUNCTION, CO – A potential homicide investigation has been initiated in Colorado after a human head was found inside of a freezer. This eerie discovery was made by the new homeowners in western Colorado’s Grand Junction while cleaning the recently sold property on the 2900 block of Pinyon Avenue.

Mesa County Sheriff’s Office was quickly informed about the suspicious situation on Friday after the new homeowners thought they might have stumbled upon human remains. Reporters indicated that the freezer was in the house’s front yard and that it was a chest or deep freezer.

The homeowners called the police after finding a bag containing what seemed to be human remains. So far, authorities have released limited information about the case. The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the investigation of a possible homicide is underway.

However, to alleviate public concern, officials have stated that there is no ongoing threat to the public, and they believe this to be an “isolated incident.” The property is located in central Grand Junction, near Orchard Avenue and 28 3/4 Road.

The identity of the person to whom the head belonged is yet to be revealed. Further details about the disturbing incident have not yet been released.
