Multi-car crash turns into deadly road rage shooting

ATLANTA, GA- A fatal road rage incident in Atlanta’s southwest region is currently under investigation by the Atlanta Police Department (APD). The incident, which occurred early Tuesday morning on Browns Mill Road, resulted in the death of a 31-year-old woman. The location of the incident is south of the Brown’s Mill Golf Course and east of Interstate 75.

The incident involved a collision of three vehicles, one of which contained the deceased woman. The APD has yet to release details regarding the circumstances leading to the shooting, the specifics of the crash, or if any arrests have been made in relation to the incident.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Desiree George, aged 31. According to police reports, George suffered multiple gunshot wounds. The APD also confirmed that a child was present in the vehicle with George during the incident. The child, however, was not harmed during the shooting.

While the three vehicles involved in the incident remained at the scene, the APD stated that the search for the suspect or suspects is ongoing. APD Homicide Commander Germain Dearlove described the incident as occurring in a typically peaceful neighborhood. Investigators are currently seeking information from local residents to piece together the events leading to the shooting.

This incident adds to a recent surge of fatal shootings in Atlanta, particularly over the recent Labor Day weekend. Despite the increase in cases, Dearlove remains optimistic about the department’s progress due to strong evidence that they’ve gathered for each incident.
