DEKALB COUNTY, GA – In a shocking incident, a DeKalb County home was reportedly riddled with about 40 gunshots in the early morning hours of Wednesday. As a result of this alleged gunfire assault, three family members, including the mother and her teen twins, sustained injuries.
Responding to a shooting call around midnight at the residence on Rock Meadow Drive, the DeKalb County Police Department found the 42-year-old mother and her 13-year-old twins, all wounded. According to the police, the perpetrator fired approximately 40 shots into the house and escaped from the scene.
A local resident, Eddie Dennis described his account of the incident, expressing his shock over the scale of the crime scene. Concerned about the safety of his own family living nearby, he empathized with the victims, particularly the adolescents and their mother.
The injured family members were immediately taken to the hospital for necessary medical treatments and are expected to recover. Police stated that, besides the wounded mother and twins, there were at least eight other people present in the house during the attack, all of whom managed to escape unharmed.
The DeKalb County Police Department is presently investigating the details of the shooting and attempting to identify the suspect. Meanwhile, the department has not disclosed whether or not the local residents are at risk in the wake of the attack.
