Man tied up in his home and robbed by three armed suspects

WEST CALDWELL, NJ – In the early hours of the morning, a tranquil neighborhood in West Caldwell, New Jersey, was shattered by a home invasion that left one resident shaken. Police are now on an urgent manhunt for the intruders who broke into the home, tied up the homeowner, and fled with valuables, including a vehicle.

Authorities were alerted to the incident at approximately 4:30 a.m. when the homeowner reported a break-in through a glass sliding door at the back of the house. Responding officers learned that the victim had been confronted by three armed men. The assailants restrained the resident, ransacked the home, and made off with several collectible items and cash. The ordeal was further compounded when the thieves stole a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, which was later found crashed in New Brunswick.

The victim, who preferred not to appear on camera, was seen limping as he left his home with a relative. It remains unclear if his injury was a direct result of the harrowing encounter. Despite the traumatic experience, his daughter confirmed that he was doing fine.

This incident stands in stark contrast to a recent pattern of break-ins in the area, where juveniles have been targeting homes in the early morning hours, primarily seeking key fobs for luxury vehicles parked in driveways. In this case, the homeowner appears to have been specifically targeted for items inside the house rather than the vehicle, which he mentioned had been malfunctioning.

Police canvassed the neighborhood extensively, knocking on doors and seeking information from residents as part of their ongoing investigation. Despite the early stages of the probe, authorities are determined to track down the suspects and bring them to justice.

The unsettling event has left the community on edge, with residents expressing concerns over their safety. Law enforcement officials are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist in the investigation.

As the search for the perpetrators continues, the incident serves as a grim reminder of the vulnerabilities that can exist even in seemingly safe communities. The West Caldwell police are committed to restoring a sense of security and are working tirelessly to ensure those responsible are apprehended.
