Man stabs wife to death during pancake dispute

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Steven Schwartz was arrested in Washington, D.C, after being accused of fatally stabbing his 81-year-old wife, Sharron Schwartz. According to statements from federal prosecutors on Thursday, the deadly dispute was allegedly sparked by Steven Schwartz’s refusal to eat pancakes prepared by his wife.

The police were dispatched to the couple’s residence in Northwest D.C. following a report of a stabbing incident. Upon arrival, they found the wife, Sharron Schwartz, inside their home with severe stabbing injuries. The 85-year-old Steven Schwartz was also found at the scene with wounds believed to be self-inflicted.

Emergency medical aid was provided, and both the injured were transported to nearby hospitals. Unfortunately, Sharron Schwartz succumbed to her injuries while treatment was ongoing. Steven Schwartz faces charges of second-degree murder while armed as per the official police report.

During his initial hearing on Thursday, conducted via video conference, Steven Schwartz pleaded not guilty. In line with the judge’s ruling, there was probable cause to believe Schwartz committed the murder. As a result, he remains in custody without bond until his next court appearance, slated for Jan. 2.
