LONG BEACH, CA – A man was fatally stabbed at Dave’s Hot Chicken restaurant in Long Beach, marking a deadly conclusion to an altercation in the early hours of Sunday. Police are currently on the lookout for the culprit.
Eye witnesses from the crowded restaurant claim that the incident began as a verbal dispute around 12:45 a.m. at the eatery, located at the intersection of 2nd Street and Covina Avenue. The heated exchange swiftly escalated to a physical altercation.
Mobile footage taken in the aftermath of the stabbing incident depicted the victim on the floor as medical personnel attended to him, treating his severe injuries. One bystander reported that the stab wound was possibly in the victim’s neck area, a fact yet to be confirmed by law enforcement.
The Long Beach Police Department confirmed that the homicide took place at the restaurant. They reported that the suspect is still at large, as of Sunday morning at 6:30.
The Long Beach police released a statement, saying officers discovered a male adult victim with an upper-body stab wound and accordingly started first aid right away. The preliminary investigation revealed a physical confrontation took place between the suspect and the victim. It was during this argument that the suspect stabbed the victim and then fled from the scene.
