Judge arrested for allegedly murdering his wife

In a shocking turn of events, a Superior Court judge from Orange County, California, has been taken into custody following the shooting death of his wife in their Anaheim Hills home. This was confirmed by local law enforcement on Friday. The Anaheim Police Department has disclosed that 72-year-old Jeffrey Ferguson is being held on suspicion of murder.

The police were alerted to the incident shortly after 8 p.m. at a residence on East Canyon Vista Drive in the 8500 block, according to the department’s statement. The home is nestled in a neighborhood just south of the 91 Freeway. Responding officers found Sheryl Ferguson, 65, at the scene with at least one gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the location.

Jeffrey Ferguson was present at the scene when officers arrived and was taken into custody without any resistance, as per the investigators. He was subsequently booked into the Police Department’s detention facility and is being held on a bail of $1 million.

Authorities have released a booking photo of Ferguson, clad in an orange jumpsuit. The police department has stated that due to the ongoing investigation, no additional details are being shared at this time.
