Gasoline tanker explodes after collision

Early morning on Saturday, an unfortunate accident occurred in Hillsborough County, Florida. At around 2:43 a.m., a 2020 Kia Stinger and a gasoline tanker truck collided, causing an immediate explosion.

The truck, controlled by a 49-year-old man from Montgomery, Alabama, ran off the road and crashed into a utillity pole. The Kia sedan also veered off the path and flipped over.

The driver of the tanker truck was killed in the incident, while the other operator was seriously injured. The Florida Highway Patrol circulated pictures of the charred tanker truck situated on the side of the highway and footage from two Dodge Chargers who recorded the whole accident. It is presumed that the Kia operator might have been under the influence of alcohol or drugs when the crash happened.
