Cameron Theus was arrested after a standoff in Grayhawk and charged with making a terroristic threat, police records show.
FRISCO, TX — A 27-year-old man arrested after a SWAT standoff in Frisco’s Grayhawk neighborhood had been arrested several times before, including twice earlier this year, according to police information and records cited in local reporting.
Cameron Theus was taken into custody Sept. 15 following a police standoff at a residence on Stevens Point Drive. He was charged with making a terroristic threat. Authorities had not publicly released details explaining what prompted the standoff or the specific conduct underlying the latest charge.
The arrest was Theus’ third reported arrest of 2026. He was arrested Aug. 21 on a criminal mischief charge after police said he followed a woman to a nearby middle school, screamed and struck several vehicles. Police said he knocked a side mirror from the vehicle belonging to the woman he had followed. Those allegations have not been proven in court.
Theus also was arrested in February on an assault-related case. Earlier records cited by FOX 4 show arrests in 2022 involving credit card abuse and in 2018 involving resisting arrest. An arrest or criminal charge is not a finding of guilt, and the outcomes of each of those cases were not detailed in the reporting reviewed for this story.
The latest standoff drew renewed attention from residents of Grayhawk, a residential neighborhood in northwest Frisco. Kevin Raper, who told FOX 4 he has lived in the neighborhood for 22 years, said residents have become more concerned about crime and about how much information they receive from authorities when serious incidents occur.
“Frisco’s a pretty safe area, so you don’t expect that sort of thing,” Raper said. He said he would like more communication from the Frisco Police Department while acknowledging that investigators cannot release every detail during an active case.
Residents also have pointed to a separate 2025 stabbing in Grayhawk involving a teenager as an example of an unresolved case causing concern in the neighborhood. FOX 4 reported that police had not provided a recent public update on that investigation. No verified information reviewed for this story connects the stabbing to Theus or to the Sept. 15 standoff.
Frisco’s SWAT team is used for high-risk police situations, including the apprehension of suspects and the resolution of barricaded-person incidents. Authorities have not publicly explained why the tactical team was required in the Sept. 15 case beyond reporting that the arrest followed a standoff at the Stevens Point Drive residence.
Theus was being held in the Frisco Jail on $5,000 bond following the arrest, according to records cited by FOX 4. Those records also indicated a hold connected to an earlier bond violation. Additional information about the terroristic threat allegation, including the circumstances that led police to seek his arrest, had not been released.
