Fourteen-year-old boy shot for attempted burglary

FORT WORTH, TX – A shocking incident unfolded in the early hours of Thursday in Texas when a woman fatally shot a 14-year-old boy who was allegedly attempting to burglarize her home, Fort Worth police have confirmed. The woman had alerted the authorities about a possible burglary attempt shortly before the fatal shooting took place, and summoned the police back to her residence following the incident.

The adolescent, who was shot in the chest, succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The woman involved in the shooting has been cooperating with the police, and as of now, no arrests have been made in relation to the incident.

The police revealed that the woman had lodged complaints of attempted break-ins at her apartment in the past. The identity of the deceased teenager, a middle school student, has not been disclosed. His mother indicated to local media that he had slipped out of the house the night of the incident, and she only discovered his absence the next morning.

Durwyn Lamb, a mentor to local youths, was scheduled to meet with the teenager on the day of the incident. Lamb received a text message from the teen’s teacher informing him of the tragic news just as he was getting ready for school.

Lamb expressed his deep sorrow and shock at the unexpected news, admitting that although he is aware of the unfortunate circumstances in the community, he wasn’t prepared for such a tragedy that day.
