Former NFL player arrested after firing multiple shots into a car with kids in it

Former Atlanta Falcons safety William Moore reportedly caused an incident that resulted in his arrest on Sunday. According to the police, Moore faces six charges after allegedly shooting into a car while two children were inside.

The incident occurred in Alexander Park in Gwinnett County outside of Atlanta, when a woman’s 9-year-old niece was playing with another girl. The woman claimed Moore approached the girl and used profane language, allegedly accusing her of slapping his daughter, which the woman said she did not see.

Video from the scene shows another woman poking at the woman’s car tires, leading the woman to fear for her safety and drive away. In doing so, the woman inadvertently hit Moore’s vehicle, which is when police claim he exited his vehicle and shot into the car with two minors inside.

Moore was a second round selection in the 2009 NFL Draft out of Missouri and was with the Falcons for seven seasons. He truly made a name for himself in the league, having started 72 of the 76 games he played and being selected as a Pro Bowler in 2012. However, the Falcons released him after the 2015 season.

His bond has been set at $21,700 with no sign of release from the authorities.
