MASSACHUSETTS – A deadly plane crash in Massachusetts claimed the lives of three individuals on Sunday. Among the deceased were the owner of Fly Lugu Flight School, Fredrika Ballard, 53, William Hampton, 68, a flight instructor, and student pilot, Chad Davidson, 29.

The disaster unfolded near Leyden, Massachusetts. Rescue officials were alerted by dog walkers who reported witnessing a small plane crash. Upon arrival, they found the plane had crashed in the Leyden Wildlife Management Area.

The small aircraft, a twin-engine Beechcraft Baron 55, had departed from Barnes Airport, Westfield, approximately at 11:06 a.m. local time on Sunday. The three occupants were found dead inside the wreckage, their bodies retrieved by paramedics from American Medical Response and Greenfield firefighters.

With Fly Lugu Flight School declining to comment, the investigation proceeds with the authorities. Investigators from the Federal Aviation Administration Aviation arrived at the crash site on Sunday, and a National Transportation Safety Board investigator is expected to join them soon.

The area has been cordoned off for overnight examination as the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) begins scrutiny to ascertain the cause behind this unfortunate incident. A preliminary report of the accident, as highlighted by NTSB spokesperson Sarah Taylor Sulick, should be released within 30 days.

As the investigation continues, the NTSB urges those who may possess any surveillance video or related information to come forward and contact them.
