FBI hunting Harvard bombers

BOSTON, MA – An intentional explosion at Harvard Medical School has prompted a manhunt for two masked individuals last seen fleeing the campus early Saturday morning. The incident occurred just before 3 a.m. in the Golden Sun Building, known for its neurobiology research and sophisticated imaging equipment.

A Harvard University police officer responding to a triggered fire alarm witnessed the suspects escaping. Although they managed to evade capture, CCTV footage captured their images, which have since been released to the public. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.

The Boston Fire Department’s Arson Unit determined the explosion was deliberate. The FBI has joined forces with local and state police to investigate the incident thoroughly. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the community remains on edge due to the nature of the attack.

Former FBI investigator Bill Daley noted that the investigation is still in its early stages. While the term “bomb” has not been officially used, the focus is on determining the source of the explosion. The Golden Sun Building houses critical research facilities, raising questions about whether the attack was targeted.

Authorities are examining all available CCTV coverage to trace the suspects’ movements. The images may provide crucial leads, as investigators work to identify the individuals responsible. Although the suspects’ motives remain unclear, their presence at the scene shortly after the explosion suggests they could hold key information.

Daley emphasized the importance of considering all possibilities, including whether the incident was an accident involving laboratory equipment or a deliberate act of sabotage. The timing and location of the explosion suggest the suspects were familiar with the facility.

The FBI’s involvement underscores the seriousness of the investigation. The agency aims to support Harvard Police, Boston Police, and state authorities in uncovering the truth behind this alarming event.

The collaboration between various law enforcement agencies highlights the collective effort to ensure campus safety and bring those responsible to justice.
