College gymnast murdered by man familiar to her

PLAINFIELD, WI – The close-knit communities of Plainfield and Whitewater are mourning the loss of 21-year-old Kara Welsh, whose life was tragically cut short last Friday. Welsh, a management major and dedicated member of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater gymnastics team, was found dead in her off-campus apartment following a confrontation with a 23-year-old man.
