Christmas day argument leads to shooting of husband

According to prosecutors, a New Jersey woman shot and killed her husband on Christmas Day.

During a police response to a report of an injured man at their Mays Landing home at 10:19 p.m. On Christmas, Marylue Wigglesworth, 51, was arrested for David Wigglesworth’s murder.

In a statement, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office said police found the 57-year-old dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

Currently, Marylue Wigglesworth is being held at the Atlantic County Justice Facility.

A member of the Planning Board and a volunteer for the Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City, the slain man was involved in local politics. He ran for the Township Committee in 2019 but lost.

According to WPG Talk Radio, the couple share an adult son. Police have not disclosed a motive for the killing. Marylue Wigglesworth’s Facebook page shows a smiling, affectionate couple.
