Child Accidentally Kills 2-Year-Old Girl With Pellet Rifle

A 2-year-old girl has died after being shot by a pellet rifle, according to a news release from the Haralson County Sheriff’s Office. The incident took place at an area near Corinth Poseyville Road and Business 27 in Bremen. Deputies and emergency personnel rushed to the scene after the toddler went into cardiac arrest.

Upon arrival, they found Jaylea Hutchinson, the 2-year-old, in need of CPR. The child was taken to Tanner Medical Center, but ultimately passed away from her injuries. Investigators believe that another child in the home shot Hutchinson, leading to the tragic accident.

Deputies are continuing their investigation into the incident. In the meantime, Haralson County Sheriff Stacy Williams released a statement regarding the child’s death. Williams expressed condolences and called for prayers for the grieving family.

As the investigation continues, the family is asking for privacy as they mourn the loss of their young child.
