An 18-year-old arrested with a cache of weapons involved in numerous robberies

BELLEVUE, WA – An 18-year-old from Federal Way is behind bars following a spree of alleged criminal activities that stretched far beyond Bellevue’s borders. Madden McGraw, living with his father, was arrested on Monday, marking a swift response from local law enforcement to a series of troubling incidents involving theft and violence.

Authorities have linked McGraw to the robbery of a 72-year-old woman earlier this month. The victim was attacked while loading groceries into her car at a Bellevue parking lot. The assailants reportedly fled the scene in a stolen red Toyota, leaving the woman with significant injuries, including a compression fracture in her back.

The victim’s family expressed relief at McGraw’s arrest. “We were astounded by the rapid action taken by the police,” said Aaron Lee, the woman’s son-in-law. He noted the family’s shock upon seeing the array of stolen items recovered from McGraw’s apartment, which included firearms, ammunition, and numerous credit cards.

Bellevue police have disclosed that the items recovered were part of a larger cache, including over 30 sets of keys and police-issued tactical gear. Investigators suspect that McGraw was not acting alone and may have targeted vulnerable elderly women with the help of accomplices.

The investigation drew on meticulous attention to detail, with surveillance footage playing a crucial role. On the day of the attack, McGraw was seen wearing a distinct black jacket with a noticeable hole, which was captured on video at a nearby mall. This evidence helped link him to the crime.

Unfortunately, the 72-year-old woman was not McGraw’s only alleged victim. Police believe he also targeted an 84-year-old woman in Lynnwood, snatching her purse and causing her to fall. Surveillance images reportedly show McGraw and a juvenile accomplice using stolen credit cards to make purchases exceeding $1,200.

The duo is also suspected of committing multiple car break-ins, including one at a casino parking lot and another at a Boeing facility in Renton, where a Glock handgun was stolen. The breadth of their alleged crimes underscores the severity of the charges McGraw now faces.

While McGraw remains in custody, the search continues for his juvenile accomplice, who has been charged with four felonies, including first-degree robbery. The victim’s family has expressed gratitude for the police’s swift and diligent work in apprehending the suspect.
