71-year-old arrested after offering young girls drugs for sexual acts

DAYTON, OH – A disturbing incident unfolded in Dayton when a 14-year-old girl recorded a man’s attempt to exchange drugs for sexual favors. The teenager’s mother, Lacy Cincaid, shared the video with authorities, leading to the man’s arrest.

The incident occurred Monday on Philadelphia Street, as the teen was returning from a local store. According to Cincaid, the man, identified by police as 71-year-old Michael Kotis, approached her daughter in a car, prompting her to record the encounter on her cell phone.

The video captures Kotis allegedly reaching for an item in his console while asking the girl if she had ever smoked crack. Shocked by the question, the teen confronted him, stating her age and recording his response.

After the unsettling exchange, the teenager ran home, visibly shaken, to inform her parents. Cincaid expressed her daughter’s discomfort and the family’s consideration of relocating due to the incident.

Police reviewed the video and arrested Kotis at his home in Sugar Creek Township. He faces charges of compelling prostitution and importuning. In court, Kotis pleaded not guilty, and his bond was set at $75,000.

Cincaid praised her daughter’s quick thinking and use of technology to capture crucial evidence, including the suspect’s license plate, which aided in his arrest.

Kotis remains in Montgomery County Jail, awaiting his next court appearance on October 17. The Cincaid family plans to attend the hearing.
