18-year-old arrested for would be drug robbery that turned to double-homicide

On Monday, Fairfax County Police arrested and charged 18-year-old Vladimir Garcia Montes for a double homicide in Falls Church, Virginia. Police are investigating the incident as a drug-related robbery that resulted in two fatalities and three injuries.

At around 3:30 pm, officers responded to a report of a man being shot on Pimmit Run Lane. Upon arriving, police discovered 20-year-old Jonas Skinner of Ashburn with gunshot wounds to the upper body in the laundry room of an apartment building. Members of Fairfax County Fire and Rescue declared Skinner dead at the scene.

In the complex parking lot, police found three people with upper body stab wounds. One of the victims, 18-year-old Braden Deahl of Arlington County, was transported to a nearby hospital where he later died. The other two victims were taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

During the investigation, a K-9 unit discovered a significant amount of marijuana nearby; detectives believe this is connected to the homicide. Police added that all involved in the incident are believed to know each other and the act was not random.
