16-Year-Old Suspected Of Killing Two People

In connection with a double homicide that took place on Dec. 8, Clayton County, Georgia, police said they have a 16-year-old boy in custody.

In the middle of the parking lot at Mount Zion Boulevard in Morrow, police found 20-year-old Zachary Tallant shot to death around 11:50 p.m. on December 8th.

An additional victim, 25-year-old Juan Jose Montalvo, was shot to death near a residence on Londonderry Drive, also in Morrow, at 11:57 p.m.

Due to the close proximity of the victims, police concluded they were all murdered by the same suspect. They called in Clayton County Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division to investigate the case.

A 16-year-old was arrested on two counts of malice/felony murder, two counts of aggravated assault, and two counts of tampering with evidence during the investigation.

In light of the seriousness of the charges against him, it is likely that the courts will decide to try him as an adult since he is currently being held as a juvenile.

Police are still investigating what led up to the shootings and gathering evidence.
