Woman shot and killed while sitting in parked car

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – A callous shooting incident on the city’s west side has left a local family in shock and seeking justice in the ruthless murder of 37-year-old Kierra Dotson.

On Friday evening, home surveillance footage reveals the quick progression of the deadly incident. A red Dodge was seen pulling up next to the parked victim’s car at approximately 7 pm. Shots rang out, only to be followed mere seconds later by the rapid departure of the assailant’s vehicle.

The suspect was seen circling the area multiple times before pulling up to Kierra’s car and opening fire.

Minutes later, local Indianapolis police officers were summoned to the scene. They found the victim, known fondly to family members as Kia, mortally wounded inside her car parked outside her west-side home. Despite being swiftly transported to the hospital, Dotson’s injuries were too severe, and she succumbed to her wounds.

Yolanda Dotson, the victim’s aunt, further highlighted the ripple effect of grief caused by this brutal act of violence, “You hurt her daughter, her sisters and brothers, her nieces and nephews, her aunts and uncles.

Authorities are pleading for anyone with information about this tragic incident to come forward.
