Woman in critical condition after stabbing outside busy mall

TOWSON, MD – A quiet Saturday morning turned chaotic when a woman was stabbed several times in a bustling parking lot at Towson Town Center. The incident, which occurred around 11 a.m., transformed the busy shopping area into a crime scene.

Frequent shoppers expressed shock and concern over the violence. “It’s just devastating,” said Rita, a regular visitor to the mall. She expressed her hopes for the victim’s recovery from both the physical and emotional trauma.

Police reported that the stabbing took place near the mall’s Fairmount Avenue entrance. A man attacked the woman, stabbing her multiple times in the upper torso. The incident happened about an hour after the mall had opened for the day.

Authorities quickly assured the public that this was an isolated incident involving two people who knew each other. Corporal Jasmine Fleet confirmed that it was a domestic situation, not a random act of violence.

An MTA officer witnessed the attack and intervened, commanding the suspect to drop his weapon. The man complied and was arrested on the spot, preventing further harm.

Despite the swift response, the incident left some residents unsettled. “It’s shocking, especially in this area,” a local remarked, highlighting the unexpected nature of such violence at a popular shopping destination.

The woman was critically injured and remains in the hospital. The suspect now faces charges, adding another layer to the ongoing issue of domestic violence.
