Woman arrested for shooting her parents to death

BEDFORD, MA – A woman has been arrested and charged with fatally shooting her parents in Bedford, Massachusetts. As reported by Middlesex County District Attorney Marian Ryan, 24-year-old Jessica Cavallaro allegedly shot her parents, both 56 years old, outside a house on Washington Street Thursday morning.

Speaking on the incident, Ryan said that the mother died on the spot while the father succumbed to his injuries later in the hospital. The suspect, Cavallaro, reportedly lives in the house where the incident occurred with her boyfriend’s family.

Ryan said Cavallaro went into the house post-shooting and instructed someone to dial 911. Law enforcement found a handgun on the scene, leading to her arrest. The District Attorney revealed that Cavallaro did not possess a license for the firearm.

Cavallaro faces several charges, including murder, in relation to the violent outburst. She is slated to appear for arraignment in Concord District Court.

The motive for the deadly shooting is still unclear. According to Ryan, Cavallaro’s parents reside in a different part of Bedford, and the reason for their presence at their daughter’s residence is not yet established. She urged for greater attention to be paid to domestic violence incidents and the widespread accessibility of guns.

Bedford Police informed that Washington Street would remain closed for the duration of the afternoon.
