KENNER, LA – The mysterious death of a local man, identified as Manzano, has taken a significant turn following an investigation by the Kenner Police Department. According to the Jefferson Parish Coroner, Dr. Gerry Cvitanovich, Manzano’s death was caused by a combination of alcohol, Xanax, and positional asphyxia, resulting from lying face down. His blood alcohol level was recorded at 0.232, nearly three times the legal limit, while the presence of Xanax was measured at 25 nanograms per milliliter.
On March 17, authorities issued an arrest warrant for Dinette Colbert, linking her to Manzano’s death. Detectives suspect that Colbert intentionally drugged Manzano before robbing him, a method consistent with her previous offenses. Colbert is already facing charges in St. Tammany Parish, adding to her legal troubles.
The investigation revealed that Colbert may not have acted alone. Investigators have identified Ricky White as a potential accomplice in the alleged scheme. White was apprehended in Hollywood, Florida, and now faces multiple charges, including property crime, simple robbery, access device fraud, illicit transmission of monetary funds, bank fraud, and computer fraud.
Dr. Cvitanovich has classified the manner of Manzano’s death as undetermined due to the complex circumstances surrounding the case. Despite this classification, the police department remains confident in its ability to prosecute Colbert successfully.
The Kenner Police Department continues to gather evidence and build a case against Colbert, aiming to bring justice for Manzano. The community is closely watching the developments, hoping for a resolution that will provide closure to the victim’s family and friends.
As the investigation progresses, authorities are urging anyone with additional information to come forward. The case highlights the ongoing challenges law enforcement faces in tackling complex criminal activities involving drugs and fraud.
The arrest of Colbert and White marks a significant step in unraveling the events leading to Manzano’s death. Law enforcement agencies remain committed to pursuing all leads and ensuring that those responsible are held accountable.
The case serves as a reminder of the potential dangers associated with substance abuse and criminal activities, underscoring the importance of vigilance and cooperation between the community and law enforcement.
