LAWRENCEVILLE, GA – Two individuals were rushed to a hospital with critical injuries after a shooting took place in a home in Gwinnett County late Tuesday night. According to the police, both a man and a woman had been shot in the head at the house.
Officers were dispatched to the crime scene in response to reports of a domestic dispute. They arrived around 10:30 p.m. in the residential neighborhood on Dayspring Trace in unincorporated Lawrenceville. As the officers approached the house, they heard gunshots coming from the driveway.
The victims were a woman in her 40s and a man in his 20s who resided at this address. Both of the victims were immediately given medical attention at the scene before they were transported to a local hospital for further treatment. Their current condition remains unknown. Another adult was present in the house at the time of the shooting, but they were not wounded.
Following the shooting, a man was reportedly seen escaping the area in a vehicle. Investigators are now focusing on identifying this individual and establishing his connection with the victims.
According to Gwinnett County Police Sgt. Michele Pihera, the police believe all parties involved were likely acquainted with each other. Information from the public that might assist the investigation is encouraged to be reported to the Gwinnett County Police Department.
