Two students stabbed in high school fight

TUJUNGA, CA – In a shocking incident that has left a community on edge, two high school students were stabbed during a violent altercation on the grounds of Verdugo Hills High School. The chaos, which unfolded in broad daylight, was captured on video by a student, sparking concerns over safety and gang activity in the area.

Emergency responders and police rushed to the scene shortly before 2 p.m. as the school initiated a lockdown. The video, shared by a student, shows a fistfight erupting between two individuals, with a third briefly joining in. The tension escalates dramatically when someone in the crowd yells about a knife, and the video cuts off abruptly.

Firefighters confirmed their arrival at the scene, and the school promptly informed parents of an ongoing “incident” via a brief notification. Authorities later disclosed that two students sustained injuries, with one in serious condition, while the other suffered non-life-threatening wounds. Both were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Parents expressed deep concern, citing ongoing gang-related issues at the school. They criticized the administration for not taking sufficient action to curb violence, alleging that previous incidents of students being harassed or attacked have been inadequately addressed.

One parent, who chose to remain anonymous, lamented, “There have been numerous reports of kids being jumped and harassed, yet it seems like nothing significant is being done to address these safety concerns.”

The Los Angeles Police Department’s Foothill Division is currently handling the investigation. They have detained one suspect and are actively searching for four additional individuals believed to be involved. These suspects were last seen in a white four-door sedan driving south on Irma Avenue.

As investigators work to piece together the events leading to the stabbing, the community remains anxious, demanding answers and effective measures to prevent future violence. The motive behind the altercation is still unclear, leaving many questions unanswered.

As the investigation unfolds, parents, students, and faculty are left grappling with the harsh reality of violence on school grounds, urging for stronger security measures and a safer environment for students.
