Two Dead After Shooting At North Naples Condo

Deputies said a father called 911 after reporting that his son shot his wife and himself.

NAPLES, FL — Two adults were found dead and a third person was hospitalized after a shooting at a North Naples condo that deputies are investigating as an apparent murder-suicide, the Collier County Sheriff’s Office said.

The shooting brought a large emergency response to Avellino Isles Circle in the Vineyards community, a residential area in North Naples. Deputies, firefighters and emergency medical crews were sent to the scene after a 911 call from a father who reported that his son had shot his wife and then himself, according to an incident report cited by local news outlets.

Deputies responded at about 7:23 p.m. Wednesday to the condo on Avellino Isles Circle, where they found two adults dead from gunshot wounds and a third adult injured. The injured man, identified in reports as the father who called 911, was taken to a hospital. His condition was not immediately released. Officials have not said whether he was shot, hurt in another way or injured while trying to intervene.

The husband involved in the shooting was identified in local reports as Paul David Warren, 45, of Naples. The identity of the woman who died had not been released as of Friday. Florida law can limit the release of victim information when privacy protections are invoked, and investigators had not publicly detailed the couple’s relationship history, the ownership of the condo or what led to the shooting.

The sheriff’s office has described the case as a death investigation and an apparent murder-suicide. No charges were announced because the suspected shooter was among the dead. Investigators were expected to review the 911 call, witness statements, scene evidence and medical examiner findings before closing the case. Officials had not released a full timeline of events inside the condo before the father’s call.

The shooting drew emergency crews from several agencies, including North Collier Fire, Greater Naples Fire and Collier County EMS, according to local reports. The response focused on the condo and nearby streets inside the Vineyards community. Authorities had not reported any search for another suspect, and no other injuries were announced.

Avellino Isles Circle is in a quiet residential section of North Naples, where condos and gated communities sit near Vineyards Boulevard and local golf and club properties. A violent death investigation in that setting brought unusual attention to the neighborhood. Officials did not release details about any prior service calls to the address or whether deputies had been called there before Wednesday night.

The next steps rest with sheriff’s investigators and the medical examiner. Autopsy findings can confirm causes and manners of death, while detectives may use firearm evidence, call records and interviews to determine the order of events. As of Friday, the sheriff’s office had not announced a public briefing or a date for a final report.

The case remained under investigation Friday, with two people dead, one father hospitalized and several key facts still unreleased, including the woman’s name, the father’s condition and the motive for the shooting.
