Twin brothers charged in Fort Worth revenge killing investigation

Police say the 20-year-olds are linked to two November homicides blocks apart in north Fort Worth.

FORT WORTH, TX — Twin brothers Samuel and Solomon Gbadebo, both 20, were arrested this week on murder charges in two separate November 2025 shootings in north Fort Worth, including one investigators say was retaliation for a 2021 robbery that was recorded on video.

Authorities say the cases, which unfolded two weeks apart within the same neighborhood, moved forward after detectives connected a white Nissan Altima, clothing and shoe impressions, and a video recovered from a victim’s belongings. The Fort Worth Police Department says the brothers were taken into custody at a residence in nearby Burleson and booked on murder charges. The arrests mark a turn in a months-long investigation that began with a killing at an apartment complex and ended with a restaurant worker shot in his car outside a busy sports bar.

Detectives say the first shooting happened Nov. 15 at an apartment complex on Augusta Lane near I-35W. Surveillance footage shows a white Nissan Altima entering the lot around 1:30 a.m., according to an affidavit. Minutes later, 19-year-old Devan Randles appears on camera with three others. Investigators believe the group was breaking into vehicles when gunfire erupted off-camera. Randles was found with gunshot wounds and pronounced dead. The Altima is seen leaving the property immediately after. Two weeks later, around 2 a.m. on Nov. 30, 20-year-old Isaiah Gonzales left his shift at Flips Patio Grill on Fossil Bluff Drive and got into a car with his girlfriend. Two men who had been lingering in the parking lot for about 30 minutes ran up and, as the affidavit states, “fired through the windshield,” critically wounding Gonzales, who died at a hospital.

Investigators say the same Altima captured at the apartment complex showed up again near the restaurant scene and was traced to the suspects’ mother. Detectives also documented shoe impressions resembling Nike Air Force 1s at the second scene and noted that the brothers were later seen wearing shoes and clothing consistent with evidence described in reports. A tipster told police that Gonzales had robbed the twins in 2021, forcing them at gunpoint to strip naked while being filmed. When detectives searched Gonzales’ belongings, they found a video depicting two young men held naked at gunpoint; an affidavit says facial recognition technology identified them as Samuel and Solomon. Police confirmed the brothers had reported a robbery that year. Whether Gonzales was ever arrested in that case is unknown from available records.

The events took place within a tight corridor of far north Fort Worth bisected by Western Center Boulevard. Flips Patio Grill, a high-traffic sports bar and restaurant, sits opposite the apartment complex area where the earlier shooting occurred. The November 30 attack happened as late-night crowds emptied into the lot after closing time. Randles’ death two weeks earlier drew fewer public details at the time, beyond the discovery of his body after a burst of shots around 1:30 a.m. The proximity of both scenes and the timing helped detectives form a pattern once the car, clothing, and shoe impressions were compared with surveillance footage gathered from businesses and residences in the area.

Police executed a search warrant at the twins’ Fort Worth apartment on Dec. 12, according to records. No items were seized during that search, and at that point, investigators said they lacked enough evidence to formally tie the pair to the homicides. That same day, officers arrested Samuel after a pursuit in the Garden Acres area of south Fort Worth on unrelated charges; he later bonded out. Detectives continued building the homicide cases through December and early January. This week, officers took both brothers into custody in Burleson. They are charged with murder in the November shootings; charging documents do not list additional counts tied to the 2021 robbery. Bond information and attorney listings were not immediately available in public court records Friday.

Detectives say the alleged motive in Gonzales’ killing traces back to the 2021 robbery video, which was recovered after the restaurant shooting. An affidavit notes investigators “identified the men using facial recognition technology” and confirmed the twins had filed a robbery report that year. Police did not say whether the video was previously known to investigators, how it was stored among the victim’s belongings, or who filmed it. The affidavit also describes two figures loitering in the lot for about half an hour before running toward Gonzales’ car and opening fire, then fleeing on foot. At the apartment complex scene, cameras captured an Altima arriving and leaving near the time of the gunfire, but did not record the shooting itself.

Family and friends identified Gonzales as a young employee at Flips who was finishing a late shift. Regulars left candles near the restaurant’s sign in the days after the shooting, and a small memorial grew along a curb line facing Fossil Bluff Drive. Randles was 19 and, according to investigators, appeared on camera with three others who they believe were breaking into cars moments before he was shot. Police have not publicly named the other people seen with Randles, and records do not indicate arrests in that portion of the case. “This investigation is ongoing,” the department said in a brief statement after announcing the brothers’ arrests.

The brothers were booked this week on murder charges in connection with the two November shootings. Under Texas law, a murder charge carries a potential sentence of 5 to 99 years or life in prison if convicted. Prosecutors could seek to consolidate the cases or keep them separate, depending on the charging decisions and evidence. Initial magistration could occur over the weekend, with a first court setting typically scheduled within several days. Police have not announced additional suspects. Detectives are still collecting business-parking-lot surveillance and canvassing nearby complexes for supplemental footage from the early hours of Nov. 30 and from the Nov. 15 sequence on Augusta Lane.

As of Friday afternoon, police had not released detailed booking affidavits or a full incident narrative beyond the search-warrant descriptions. Flips Patio Grill management declined to comment on the arrests. Residents who live along Western Center Boulevard said traffic and late-night crowds often swell on weekends; several described hearing sirens and seeing flashing lights the morning of Nov. 30 but said they learned details later from news reports. In the apartment complex where Randles died, maintenance crews recently repaired a camera above a gatehouse, according to a resident who asked not to be named because they are not authorized to speak to reporters.

Police say both cases remain active. Detectives are awaiting additional lab comparisons and any new tips. The next update could come after the brothers make their first court appearances, expected early next week, when bond terms and attorney information are typically recorded. The department said further information would be released as it becomes available.
