Three arrested for shooting outside Flanigan’s

MIRAMAR, FL – Authorities have made significant progress in a case involving a violent robbery outside a popular local restaurant. Three suspects have been apprehended in connection with a shooting and theft that occurred in July outside Flanagan’s Restaurant in Miramar. The trio is expected to appear before a judge soon.

The incident, which took place on July 11, involved a young couple who were ambushed and shot while walking outside the restaurant. The attackers made off with a $20,000 gold chain, leaving the community in shock. The Miramar Police Department has now identified the suspects as Derrick Johnson, Byron Williams, and Keenan Clark.

Investigators pieced together the case using a search warrant and surveillance footage. The footage captured the moment of the ambush and provided crucial evidence. According to police, the suspects targeted the couple after spotting them in the bar area of Flanagan’s, specifically eyeing the expensive gold chain worn by one of the victims.

In a bold move, one of the suspects, Keenan Clark, reportedly flaunted the stolen chain on social media, which led to a breakthrough in the investigation. The victim recognized the chain and alerted authorities, aiding in the identification of the suspects.

Further surveillance video from late July showed the suspects shopping at convenience stores in Miami Gardens. This footage, along with a Crime Stoppers tip, helped police identify Derrick Johnson as one of the culprits. The young couple, who spoke to the media shortly after the incident, expressed relief and gratitude for the arrests.

The victims recounted the terrifying experience, describing how they were robbed at gunpoint. They emphasized their gratitude for surviving the ordeal and their hope that justice would be served. The arrests have brought a sense of closure to the couple, who had been praying for the suspects to be apprehended.

Miramar police have released detailed information in the arrest warrant, including still shots from surveillance footage. The community awaits further developments as the suspects prepare to face the judicial system.
