Three arrested after teen left to die following shooting

WEST MIAMI-DADE, FL – Authorities are delving deeper into a shooting that left a teenager critically injured, as three suspects face charges in connection with the incident. The 16-year-old victim, identified as Elijah Quintero, was shot in a Leisure City neighborhood early last Friday morning.

Newly released video footage reveals the dramatic moments when shots rang out at the intersection of Southwest 283rd Street and 140th Place. The footage shows a man wielding a gun before retreating into a nearby home. Shortly after, three individuals reemerge, seemingly searching for evidence such as spent shell casings.

Detectives have arrested two men and a woman in connection with the shooting. They are accused of leaving Quintero on the street, writhing in pain. First responders rushed him to the hospital, where doctors have warned his family that his severe injuries might result in paraplegia.

Friends of Quintero describe him as a kind-hearted individual, quick to lend a hand to those in need. “He didn’t deserve this,” said one friend, emphasizing his caring nature.

The investigation has identified 20-year-old Napoleon Bryant as the suspected gunman. He, along with Jesus Aguilar and Tazzari Miller, appeared before a judge. While Bryant remains in custody without bond, Aguilar and Miller, charged as co-conspirators, were granted bond. Aguilar has since been released, but Miller remains detained.

The court has imposed strict conditions on the suspects, prohibiting any contact with the victim. As the investigation continues, the community remains on edge, grappling with the violence that has shaken their neighborhood.
