Teenage girl kidnapped, stripped, robbed, and beaten

AKRON, OH – A harrowing incident unfolded in the early hours of December 27 when a 19-year-old woman was reportedly kidnapped, assaulted, and robbed before managing a daring escape. Authorities are now on a determined hunt to bring those responsible to justice.

The young woman, whose identity has not been disclosed, was allegedly lured to a residence on Beardsly Street by individuals she believed to be friends. Once there, she was held captive in the basement and subjected to a brutal attack. The ordeal was not only physically traumatizing but was also reportedly filmed by her assailants, adding a disturbing layer to the crime.

In a stroke of resilience, the victim managed to flee the house, running into the streets of Akron without any clothing. Her escape led her to East South Street, where a passerby noticed her distress and stopped to assist. The Good Samaritan, clearly shaken by the encounter, contacted emergency services, describing the young woman as severely beaten and in need of urgent help.

“She got blood on the face,” the caller reported to the 911 dispatcher, emphasizing the severity of her injuries. The victim was quickly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, where she is recovering from her physical and emotional wounds.

Local police have already made progress in the investigation, arresting one suspect, Kendall Worthy, who is currently held at Summit County Jail with a bond set at $100,000. Worthy appeared in court for her arraignment, and the case has been escalated for further legal proceedings.

Despite this arrest, law enforcement officials believe there are additional individuals involved in the attack. Detectives are actively pursuing leads and are eager to speak with anyone who may have knowledge about the incident or the suspects. Their goal is to ensure that all parties responsible are held accountable.

The community has rallied in support of the victim, with many expressing their gratitude to the bystander who intervened. “My God, I got daughters,” the man reportedly said, highlighting the empathy and protective instincts that motivated him to help.

As the investigation continues, the Akron Police Department urges anyone with information to come forward, underscoring the importance of community involvement in solving such heinous crimes.
