Teen shoots and kills his ex-girlfriend’s mom

HOMESTEAD, FL – Horror struck the Homestead community last week after a woman was murdered, allegedly by her daughter’s teenage ex-boyfriend. Details of the gruesome events began to come to light on Monday when 16-year-old Eli Zachary Shinhoster was arrested at his home on a first-degree murder charge. Shinhoster is suspected of having murdered 39-year-old Eulalia Gonzalez Martin De Osorio in an alleged act of revenge.

Based on information from a Miami-Dade Police Department arrest report, Shinhoster confessed to planning, executing, and fleeing the crime in a rideshare vehicle. He purportedly planned to take revenge on his ex-girlfriend by causing harm to a member of her family.

Allegedly, Shinhoster reached Gonzalez’s residence on the 600 block of Northwest 11th Street and shot her on her front porch while she held her baby daughter. He then reholstered his gun and reportedly ordered another rideshare to take him home.

A horrifying scenario unfolded as the police arrived at the scene to find Gonzalez unresponsive, lying on top of her uninjured baby. A neighbor apparently heard Shinhoster saying, “I’ll fire,” before shooting.

Police noted that Shinhoster and Gonzalez’s older daughter broke up approximately two months before the fatal incident, after being in a relationship for about nine months. They added that Shinhoster allegedly threatened Gonzalez’s daughter and reportedly told her that “she could not be with anyone else.”

While Shinhoster is currently being held in juvenile custody, it isn’t clear yet whether he will face adult charges. He’s also been charged as a minor in possession of a firearm.
